Kamilah is a Native of Brooklyn, NY. She received her Associate degree in Animal Science at S.U.N.Y Cobleskill. Once in Georgia, she attended Fort Valley State University and received her Bachelor degree in Veterinary Technology. She did her internship at the University of Georgia. After graduation, she worked at a couple of different small veterinary hospitals varying from general practice to internal medicine. It wasn’t until January 2007 she found her home at The Veterinary Clinic West and became a license veterinary technician in 2010. December 2011, she was invited to join the Board of Director's committee for AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association).
